What do you love? A simple exercise to help you declutter

Updated: Aug 27

hearts with text what do you love?

When decluttering, it helps to get clear on what you love. I'm not talking about people or animals. I'm talking objects.

What in your home do you love? What are you drawn to? What is it that when you see it you feel good or it lifts you? If you can go through your home and find one object you love, write about it.

I'm serious.

Not like some fancy English paper. But write down all your thoughts about it. Write what you love about it. Write how it makes you feel.

Or ask yourself the questions and think about it to yourself. What this is going to do is give you information about what you love and what matters to you. You will have a baseline on what YOU really love. Not what people want you to love or something you feel like you should love. But what you actually love.

So when you are doing a deeper declutter you can look at something and ask yourself - is this really what I love or is it something else? Am I holding onto this item because I want to or because I feel I need to?

I hope this helps you on your decluttering journey. If you ever feel you need a coach to help you even more, feel free to reach out to me and we can see if working together would be a good fit for you.
